Pregnancy and barefoot

Benefits of barefoot in pregnant women

During pregnancy, your body changes... and so do your feet.

As your baby grows, your body adapts: the hips open up, the center of gravity shifts and the joints become more flexible. All these changes affect the way you walk, the way you balance... and can also cause discomfort in your feet, legs or back.

It's normal to feel swelling, lower back pain or fatigue when walking. But the shoes you choose can make a big difference.

Why barefoot during pregnancy?

Wearing barefoot shoes during pregnancy has multiple benefits, as the body undergoes changes that affect posture, balance and circulation. Here's why they're a great choice:

GREATER STABILITY AND BALANCE

During pregnancy, the center of gravity changes due to the growing abdomen, which can affect balance. The Libertas have a flat sole and zero drop, which allows for a natural and stable posture.

LESS STRESS ON BACK AND JOINTS

Weight gain and hormonal changes can lead to lower back, knee and ankle pain. Barefoot shoes allow the feet to align correctly, avoiding a forced posture and better distributing body weight.

PREVENTION OF SWELLING AND IMPROVED CIRCULATION

Many pregnant women experience swelling in the feet and ankles (edema). The Libertas are wide and flexible, without compression, allowing better blood circulation and reducing fluid retention.

STRENGTHENING FEET AND PREVENTING FUTURE PROBLEMS

Wearing conventional shoes with excessive support weakens the foot muscles. Walking with Libertas or barefoot shoes keeps feet active and strong, reducing the risk of fallen arches.
